As part of the heritage month programme, EThekwini Municipality and Thina Music Productions will be hosting the first annual Inanda Youth Gospel Icons Discovery Programme at the Ohlange Sports Ground, on Sunday, 22 September at 10H00.
Gospel Icons Discovery is a talent search that is aimed at cultivating the talent of young gospel artists in the eThekwini Municipality, particularly around Inanda, and help them launch their careers. There have been a series of six individual auditions that have been conducted with groups, duets and solo artists in Amatikwe, Bhambayi, Ohlange, Mzintahi, Amaoti and Newtown. Semifinalists from each area were chosen, and after weeks of training and development, South African gospel giants will join them as they battle it out for the ultimate grand prize.
Talent scouts include gospel sensations Thina Zungu and Thulani Ga Ndlela, and DJ HappyGal. The grand prize for Gospel ID is a full recording contract, and the prize will be handed over to the winning gospel act at the grand finale.
The Gospel Icons Discovery takes place on Sunday 22 September 2013 from 10h00 at the Ohlange Sports Grounds.
