uShaka Marine World, Durban’s signature tourist attraction and marine theme park, is again getting the thumbs up from travellers far and wide.

Close to home, uShaka Marine World has been voted one of KZN’s top 10 brands and is the only hospitality brand to make it into the top 10.

Each year, the coveted Top KZN brand award is given to the brand that obtains the most votes in an online public opinion poll. Voters register by email and each one is allowed a single vote.

uShaka Marine World also won top tourist attraction in KwaZulu Natal in the business category, being rated the highest at a score of 4.21 out of 5 and will be the recipient of The Diamond PMR Arrow Award.

To further add to the many achievements of uShaka Marine World, they have also just recently received a Certificate of Excellence from TripAdvisor.

Travellers use Trip Advisor to plan and book the perfect trip, and was created to showcase businesses within the hospitality industry that deliver great service with a view to driving up hospitality standards across the world. The Certificate of Excellence celebrates the accommodations, attractions and eateries that make this possible.

Voted number one out of 92 ‘things to do in Durban’ uShaka Marine World was seen as the perfect package. Fronting onto a great swimming beach, it received accolades for Wet ‘n Wild; for being “an awesome balance of shopping and dining” and for having an “amazing aquarium.”

CEO of uShaka Marine World, Stella Khumalo, said that these awards are particularly valuable and shows that the uShaka team are “getting it right” and delivering an experience to be remembered.

“We aim to not only make this one that keeps our visitors coming back for more but one that gets our visitors’ friends and families coming to see why they do,” she said, adding that the team worked hard to ensure that uShaka remained an attraction of which Durbanites could be proud by continually refreshing its offering and service and building a strong brand.
