If parents are looking for quality ways to keep the young ones entertained this holiday, then Crocworld Conservation Centre in Scottburgh is the place to be! The team is hosting an action-packed holiday programme that consists of daily animal demonstrations and feedings, in one of the KZN South Coast’s most beautiful settings.

“There’s always so much happening at Crocworld and we’re always excited to welcome visitors, new and old, to introduce some of our latest additions to the team!” said Crocworld Conservation Centre Manager, James Wittstock. “This is a great place for the youngest generation to form a connection with the natural world and to learn a little bit more about all the furry, feathered and scaled residents. It’s really a worthwhile day out for the whole family.”

Always a popular attraction at Crocworld is Henry, the Nile crocodile who – at 121 years old – is the planet’s oldest Nile crocodile outside of the wild. Also residing at the centre are West African dwarf crocodiles, American alligators, Jackal buzzards, mute swans, Mojo the resident eagle owl, and variety of venomous and non-venomous snake species. The little ones will enjoy spending some time in the animal farm where resident tortoises, guinea pigs, bunnies and goats roam free.

Winter Holiday Programme
· 10am: Snake interaction and demonstration
· 11am: Nile crocodile feeding
· 11.30am: Juvenile Nile crocodile handling
· 2pm: Marabou stork or vulture feeding
· 3pm: Nile crocodile feeding
· 3.30pm: Juvenile Nile crocodile handling

All this action builds up an appetite which is perfect as the on-site Fish Eagle Café serves delicious meals on its wraparound deck, which boasts extensive sea views. And – being winter – this is a great opportunity to catch site of the annual Sardine run or migrating humpback whales.
Fish Eagle Café is also serving up a number of specials this holiday, including soft serve ice cream for only R7, or R13 with a flake – for those beautiful sunny KZN South Coast days! For the adults, there’s Darling Easy Beer on tap, as well as great cocktail specials like the Minty Mojito or Dragon Fruit Gin and Tonic.

Crocworld Conservation Centre is a member of Species360, an international organisation which facilitates information collection from some 1 200 aquarium, zoo, university, research and governmental facilities worldwide across 99 countries on six continents.
