Valley of 1,000 Hills

View from Eagle Rock Overlook. The afternoon sun cast a really nice soft glow on the hills.

In the far end out in the bay is the Dumbarton Bridge.

I began my hike that day on the North Rim Trail, then took a detour to Eagle Rock Outlook, back to North Rim Trail then Todd Quick Trail. Boccardo Trail is at the end of Todd Quick Trail. At the end of Boccardo Trail is the Boccardo Peak, which stands at 1896 feet.

I took the shorter route to the Boccardo Peak. Elevation gain was 1000 feet in one mile. Not for the faint of heart!

I then climbed back down to Todd Quick Trail again, detoured to Weather Loop Trail, back to North Rim Trail, and picked up my car.

Then I decided I wanted to watch the sunset from Eagle Rock Outlook. So I moved my car to the Rustic Land parking area and started my 2nd climb for Eagle Rock Outlook for the day.

These parts of the park was full of wild life–I saw deers, squirrels, birds, rabbits, and even a bobcat.

View On Black.
