EThekwini Municipality’s Lancers Clinic will conduct free male medical circumcision on Saturday, 04 and 11 October 2014.
The initiative, a partnership between eThekwini Municipality, New Start and PEPFAR, is targeted at males 10 years and older. When coming for the procedure, members of the community must bring an Identity Document or Birth Certificate for those under the age of 18. Guardians of minors must also produce Identity Documents and an affidavit if the surnames do not correspond.
Male Medical Circumcision contributes to 60% in reduction of risk to HIV transmission and other sexually transmitted infections. It results in good hygiene and reduces the risk of cervical cancer to female sexual partners.
Lancers Clinic is open from 07:00-16:00 Monday-Friday and 07:00-13:00 on Saturday.
