Few players in line for Dolphins debuts – Featured Durban Blog

18 December 2019 by My Durban

Few players in line for Dolphins debuts:

Durban – As the Hollywoodbets Dolphins prepare to face the Warriors at Hollywoodbets Kingsmead Stadium in the CSA 4-Day Domestic Series clash this week, there are a handful of players that are in line for senior Dolphins debuts.

The majority of the squad have been involved in the recently concluded Mzansi Super League, where Dolphins players Sibz Makhanya, Kerwin Mungaroo and Mangaliso Mosehle were part of the winning Paarl Rocks squad.

Mosehle is one of those players in line for a Dolphins red ball debut while Hollywoodbets KZN Inland batsman Luke Schlemmer is another player that has been called up to the squad for the last game of 2019.

This week will be the first time that the Dolphins will be playing red ball cricket at Kingsmead and coach Imraan Khan knows that his charges are excited to open their account on their home ground.

“The boys are looking forward to getting out on Kingsmead Stadium again this week,” Khan said.

“It’s been a good week of preparation for us and the intensity in the nets has been superb and there is a real passion for red ball cricket amongst the squad.

“It was a tough start to the season but there is still a lot of cricket to be played in the competition and we can begin to put that right this week.”

With a bit of time to reflect during the recent MSL, Khan knows where his side needs to improve going into their match with the men from Port Elizabeth.

“I think that we didn’t execute our plans for long enough periods with both the bat and the ball,” he said candidly.

“That is why during most of the games we were always playing catch up but we have addressed this and hopefully we have learnt from that going into this week.”

The Dolphins will be without Keshav Maharaj and Andile Phehlukwayo who have both been called up to the Proteas test squad for the upcoming series against England.

Hollywoodbets Dolphins v Warriors Squad:
Sarel Erwee, Grant Roelofsen, Marques Ackerman, Cody Chetty, Senuran Muthusamy, Sibz Makhanya, Mangaliso Mosehle, Luke Schlemmer, Okuhle Cele, Prenelan Subrayen, Keith Dudgeon, Lwandiswa Zuma, Daryn Dupavillon.
