Exciting New Partnership – Featured Durban Blog

15 January 2022 by Alan

Exciting New Partnership:

The Sharks are proud to announce that we have a new defender on our tryline, SSG Holdings, who have been appointed as the official security and cleaning partner of The Sharks.

SSG Holdings is a specialised services company offering security, cleaning and facilities solutions to the South African market.

The holdings company is led by Group CEO, John Smit. The former Cell C Sharks and Springbok captain brings an understanding of The Sharks and a continuation of his many years of association with the franchise.

The Sharks continually strive to grow partnerships that will contribute to the success of the franchise with the commitment to partner with like-minded brands who also strive for excellence and to be acknowledged as leaders in their respective fields.

There is a common identity that our two business entities share, one that places value on integrity, ownership and innovation.

Speaking on the partnership, SSG Holdings Group CEO, John Smit added: “In an almost surreal way this partnership with The Sharks allows us as SSG Holdings to support one of the world’s most iconic Rugby Union franchises. We will be providing both security and cleaning services to the greatest stadium in the world, yes I know I might be a tad bias but that’s attributed to 17 years of my life spent with this wonderful brand. As one of the industry leaders nationally SSG Holdings could not be happier to defend this teams tryline and keep them squeaky clean!!!”

Quick Durban KwaZulu-Natal Fact: We like to laugh – Comedy shows have always done well on our Durban shores and no one laughs harder at our curious habits and strange accents than ourselves. However, be warned: while we like laughing at ourselves we don’t take kindly to people who pick on our cultures, customs or accents. It might sound odd, but we like adding an occasional “but” to the end of a sentence. To you it might sound incorrect, to us it sounds right, but.
