Exciting match-up awaits Dolphins in Bloem:
Durban – Following a convincing 4-Day Domestic Series opening win, the Hollywoodbets Dolphins are in Bloemfontein to face the VKB Knights starting on Monday.
The Dolphins have decided to take the same squad, that did the business in their season opener, on their trip to the Free State minus Daryn Dupavillon who is still unavailable due to injury.
The Knights were also impressive in their first game in the competition when they beat the Warriors convincingly.
The men from the Free State are sitting top of the combined log just over a point ahead of the Dolphins. Dolphins coach Imraan Khan knows that his side are going to have to be on top of their game from Monday.
“We are expecting a tough test from the Knights after they had a good win last week,” coach Imraan Khan said.
“Bloemfontein is always a tough place to play and the Knights will be confident after their performance but we are also in a good space.
“It’s good that we have some continuity in selection and we’re looking forward to the challenge in Bloem.”
The Dolphins showed good form with the bat in their first game of the season. Sarel Erwee and newcomer Keegan Petersen both registered big hundreds while captain Marques Ackerman made fifty.
The bowling attack will be tested by the conditions in Bloemfontein and the seamers might play a bigger part than they did at Hollywoodbets Kingsmead Stadium last week.
Ottniel Baartman proved that he is going to be an asset for the Dolphins when he picked up four wickets in the first innings against the Lions on a docile wicket.
