Everything you need to know about planning your perfect Spring wedding

30 October 2019 by Alan

Everything you need to know about planning your perfect Spring wedding:

Spring is seen as the time of renewal, making it the perfect time to get hitched as your wedding marks the beginning of a new phase of your life.

The weather’s warming up and everything’s in bloom — what’s not to be excited about? There are so many things to consider before saying ‘I do’ in the Spring. Each wedding comes with its own set of pros and cons; here’s what you need to know before sending out those save-the-dates…

Pros:

• Spring décor. If your dream colour palette has always been soft, light, and neutral colours, then you are in for a treat. Think pretty pastels, blooming cherry blossoms, and fresh greenery! This creates not only a beautiful backdrop for your photos, but you can also mix light colours if you like rather than committing to just one or two wedding colours. The more colours the merrier in the spring!
• You might get more “yes” replies because friends and family aren’t taking their set vacations so that’s a plus.
• You don’t have any weather-related restrictions when it comes to selecting your gown. If you want to wear sleeves, you can without overheating. You’ve always imagined yourself going sleeveless? Do it. Whatever style you prefer it’s a go with a spring wedding.
Cons:
• SA Spring weather can be unpredictable. You may have been dreaming of your cherry blossomed-day radiating in the sunlight ever since you sent out your save the date, only to be soaked in raindrops. It’s best to select a venue that can accommodate any changes from Mother Nature.
• Venue and vendor pricing start inflating. Take a look at your budget and decide whether you can afford a peak-wedding season affair…if not, plan for the early part of the season and save.

Spring Food Trends

Bring the best of the season to your reception menu by adding a hint of spring to your food servings.

Sure, it’s easy to be seduced by all of spring’s brightly coloured fresh fruits and vegetables, but there’s no need to limit yourselves. Rosemary and Garlic Basted Leg of Lamb, Pan Seared Line fish, Black Field Mushrooms, and Herb Roasted Topside Beef are just a few of the delectable options available on the menu at Endless Horizons.

End off your spring wedding with desserts that showcase seasonal fruits, which include that of citrus. Endless Horizons, signature exotic fruit salad is a great option. Want something a bit more decadent? Indulge in yummy Malva Pudding or vanilla ice-cream. The possibilities are endless—and the choice is totally up to you!

Spring Wedding Flowers

There’s no better time to give in to your floral fantasies than during your spring wedding! Here are a few of our favourite spring blooms:

• Lavender. a bluish-purple flower with a calming fragrance, dried lavender is also popular as wedding confetti. Lavender is a beautiful symbol for a peaceful marriage, it’s soothing scent will add layers of good feeling to your special day.
• Peonies. Is it even a spring wedding if there aren’t any peonies? This is a classic flower that comes in endlessly flattering colours.
• Sweet Pea. This relatively short-stemmed flower is a perfect addition to bridal bouquets and bridesmaids’ bouquets. it’s a little flower with a sweet scent available in a variety of colours.

Situated in Umhlanga Rocks Drive in the heart of Durban North with stunning views of the Indian Ocean, Endless Horizons is a perfect wedding venue especially in Spring.

Endless Horizons Boutique Hotel has two fantastic wedding packages for couples taking the plunge and where they get to enjoy their special day with the people closest to them.
