GLENELLY ESTATE BISTRO + TASTING ROOM: Think of the Cape and you think of the Winelands, scattered with beautiful Cape Dutch homesteads and fields of vineyards. Glenelly Estate which was created in 2003 by May de Lencquesaing, former owner of iconic Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande, has just launched the Vine Bistro, along with a revamp to its tasting room and glass museum.  May’s grandchildren, Arthur de Lencquesaing and Nicolas Bureau, spearheaded the project using Inhouse Design Studio to create the new ground level eatery and renovate the 1st-floor tasting room. The stand out element of the redesign though is the impressive polished concrete and granite tasting bar, made from materials on Glenelly and featuring an engraved map of the farm, indicating where one can find Glenelly’s Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc and Chardonnay vineyards. I’m already planning a trip! {Click images to enlarge}     […]
