EThekwini Municipality advises residents and businesses that the City’s bulk water supplier, uMngeni-uThukela Water (UUW), has successfully completed planned maintenance at the Durban Heights Water Treatment Works.
UUW has confirmed that the plant has returned to full production following the completion of all scheduled maintenance activities.
The Municipality’s Water and Sanitation Directorate (EWS) has therefore reopened reservoir outlets and is actively restoring the municipal water distribution network.
As the restoration process involves multiple reservoirs across the supply system, water will be restored in phases. Some communities will begin receiving water from the morning of 25 July. Other areas are expected to have supply restored by midday or later in the afternoon, as reservoirs refill and the distribution system stabilises.
Consumers are reminded that restoration times may vary depending on location, elevation, and reservoir levels.
