Durban Cruise

In less than 20 days, 25th October 2013, the MSC Opera will depart Genoa, Italy and start the 17 night voyage to South Africa for the official start of the 2013/14 local South African Summer season.

“En route the ship will enjoy six ports of call, including Villefranche sur Mer (France), Valencia (Spain), Casablanca , Agadir (Morocco), Dakar and Walvis Bay (Namibia) before docking in Cape Town on Monday 11th November – her first port of call in South Africa” notes Allan Foggitt, of MSC Cruises SA.

The eagerly awaited return of MSC Opera marks the opening of the 2013/14 Southern African cruise season and will once again be celebrated again this year by MSC Cruises in Cape Town hosting a special on board charity luncheon in aid of the Ukuthemba Foundation.

The MSC Opera departs CT the same evening for her first local cruise; following the South African coast line visiting PE en route to final destination of Durban, where she will operate for majority of the local season.

MSC Sinfonia departs Italy as sister ship MSC Opera arrives in South Africa on the 11th November, offering a 19 night Southbound voyage via Marseille, Barcelona, Lisbon, Funchal, Mindelo, Walvis bay and arriving in CT on the 30th November 2013.

In addition to the ever popular cruises to Mozambique and the Cape Collection some of the highlighted itinerary changes for the new season include a 12 night New Year cruise on board MSC Sinfonia and a series of new 7 nights itineraries operated by MSC Sinfonia visiting Portuguese Island, the beautiful fishing village of Anakao and Fort Dauphin in Madagascar.

The ever popular Christmas and New Year’s cruises will be on offer with The MSC Sinfonia spending Christmas as part of a new 7 night itinerary to the pristine Indian ocean Portuguese Islands, the Madagascar gem of Anakoa and port of Fort Dauphin .

The SA favourite will Depart on the 28th December for the Madagascar island of Ill Saint Marie, the French Island of Reunion and ever sought after Mauritius, welcoming the new year off the shores of Madagascar.

The MSC Opera, returning for her second season, departs on the 20th December for a 10 night cruise to Mauritius, with 3 days to explore this tropical paradise and will welcome in the New Year as part of a 7 night cruise to the Maputo, Portuguese Island and Fort Dauphin.

A 14 night Island Discovery cruise has also been introduced for MSC Sinfonia visiting Mauritius, Reunion as well as Ile St Marie and the picturesque beaches of Fort Dauphin in Madagascar.
