Although much of the focus is on the Cell C Sharks match against the Hurricanes at Growthpoint KINGS PARK, fans can remain afterwards to catch the Currie Cup Qualifier between the Cell C Sharks XV and Western Province.

Coach Michael Horak has a team of balance, from those with Super Rugby experience like S’bura Sithole, Heimar Williams, David McDuling and Khaya Majola who captains the side, to a number of youngsters who have come through the age group ranks and forced their way into this team, in the quest for higher honours.

After winning their last match – against the Namibian Welwitschias – and then enjoying a bye, the team come into this match with not only fresh legs, but also confidence following their impressive 48-18 victory.

The clash kicks-off at 5.30pm, after the Vodacom Super Rugby match between the Cell C Sharks and Hurricanes.

Garth April will start his third consecutive match when the Cell C Sharks host the Hurricanes in their Vodacom Super Rugby clash at Growthpoint KINGS PARK on Saturday, but coming off the bench will be Pat Lambie, now over the long-term injury that has had him out of action for some time.

Also making a return is captain Beast Mtawarira who was rested for last week’s game against the Chiefs.

The Hurricanes will be in high spirits after putting 50 points on the Lions last week.  For the Cell C Sharks, they will be excited to play in front of their home crowd and to build on the courageous effort they displayed last Friday against current log leaders, the Chiefs.

The Cell C Sharks are a team who pride themselves on committed, staunch defence and will certainly look to play with the kind of intent they’ve shown all season that looks to nullify the dangerous Hurricanes’ attack, while putting on an attacking show that reflects what they want to do, and what delivered a three try to two effort against the Chiefs last week.
