Dolphins & Lions to use reserve day for MODC final – Featured Durban Blog

4 February 2021 by My Durban

Dolphins & Lions to use reserve day for MODC final:

Durban – Following persistent rain in Potchefstroom umpires were forced to abandon the Momentum One Day Cup final between the Hollywoodbets Dolphins and the Imperial Lions on Thursday and make use of the reserve day on Friday to complete the competition.

The North West town has been inundated with rain for a number of weeks and the semi-final between the Lions and the Knights was completely washed out earlier in the week which saw the Johannesburg side qualify due to superior log points.

This contrasted the Dolphins fortunes who managed to beat the Six Gun Grill Cape Cobras by three wickets in their semi-final on Monday.

Both sides will be eager to play the match, however the Dolphins will want to claim the trophy outright with a win given they were winners by virtue of log points last season and then shared the trophy with the Warriors in the 2017/18 season.

Friday’s play will get underway at 10am, however should they not be able to play then the Dolphins and the Lions will share the trophy.

Quick Durban KwaZulu-Natal Fact: Durbanites are pretty laid-back and we think it’s because we live at a slower pace than bigger cities caught up in concrete jungles and rat races. This means we’re more patient, more involved with our families and have more time to enjoy our city. This combination makes us quite a friendly and helpful bunch.
