Dolphins and Rocks drawn run-fest:
Durban – The Hollywoodbets Dolphins and the Gbets Rocks settled for a draw in their CSA 4-Day Domestic Series clash in Paarl on Monday.
The Dolphins compiled a formidable 422 all out in their first innings with Keegan Petersen and Andile Phehlukwayo registering centuries – it was a maiden first-class hundred for Phehlukwayo who ended on 107.
Shaun von Berg and seamer Achille Cloete both picked up three wickets each for the hosts before they batted.
They in reply notched up 422 for eight and when they reached the Dolphins first innings mark during the final day both captains came together realising that a result was far-fetched.
They shook hands with Rocks opener Pieter Malan undefeated on 219 while Stiaan van Zyl made 47 and Von Berg chipped in with 40.
Eathan Bosch and Prenelan Subrayen were the pick of the Dolphins bowlers, both bagging three wickets.
The draw ends the 4-Day Series for the Dolphins who ended the competition unbeaten but had to settle for six draws from their seven matches in the tournament.
The focus now shifts back to white ball cricket with the start of the CSA One-Day Cup this week. The Dolphins begin their campaign against the Momentum Multiply Titans at Hollywoodbets Kingsmead Stadium on Sunday.

Petersen ton gives Dolphins edge over Rocks:
Durban – A undefeated century from Keegan Petersen helped the Hollywoodbets Dolphins to 272 for five at the end of day one against the Gbets Rocks.
The Dolphins lost the wicket of opener Bryce Parsons cheaply before Proteas batsman Petersen and the other opener Grant Roelofsen steadied the ship.
A crucial 100 run partnership took the Dolphins to 103 before Roelofsen fell for a patient 49, caught behind off the bowling of Shaun von Berg.
46 runs later and captain Marques Ackerman hit a Von Berg full toss to Pieter Malan for 35 off 38 balls and the Dolphins had moved close to the 150 run mark.
The Dolphins were then rocked by two more quick wickets and found themselves 154 for five as Khaya Zondo and Jason Smith were both dismissed without scoring.
Petersen and Andile Phehlukwayo combined to bat out the rest of the day and put together an important partnership of 118; more importantly the partnership is undefeated.
The number three batsman finished the day on 115 not out off 308 deliveries while Phehlukwayo undefeated on 69.
