Dj Ntukza’s Beach party shuts down Durban:
With just 2 days of marketing Dj Ntukza and Dogg Dbn were able to host one of the best Beach parties Durban has ever had in a very long time! What a jam and Vuzu TV was there to capture it all!!!!
“To be honest we didn’t want to host a beach party, I was planning to do a house party because I was going to shoot a documentary with VuZU TV about my music career and my upbringing. So there were some setbacks about the venue and on last minute a friend of mine suggested a beach party and I passed on the idea to my friend and colleague Dogg and he was like “we can pull it off boy, let’s do it” and I contacted a few people and the rest was history.” Says Ntukza, who is still amazed by the turn out and the way the party turned out to be!
He also wished to send a vote of thanks and appreciation to the Viva Africa for Sound, La Saint for Flyer Design, Junior from Umhlanga for the Generator, Funkysoul, Juniorderocka, Benny Maverick, Dj Nzwiri, Lvovo, Dj Cndo, Bhar, Dj Sox and most importantly everyone who came through to the party in short notice!
With the trends in Durban leaning more and more to Hip Hop, which has been a results of the raw House music that has managed to spread across Durban townships, commonly known as “Igqomu”, which is a very raw form of dance house music. People, now, prefer party to Hip Hop in parties because of the spread of this raw sound and the lack of good deep house Djs which has led to a decline in parties that play really good House Music – like back in the days. So Dj Ntukza, known for his intense passion for Deep House Music and one of the few if not the only Dj from Durban that has stuck to promoting Deep House, is set to bring back the culture of good music in Durban with a series of parties he plans to host with fellow deep house head and colleague “Dogg”, real name Lindo Buthelezi, who also owns one of Durban’s fastest growing PR companies “Social Creations”.
Speaking to us Dogg had this to say, “I’m actually overwhelmed with joy by the prospect of working with one of my closest friends in doing what we love the most. Ntukza is the symbol of Deep House in Durban and I’m fan of his music, I don’t think he has any idea of how much people believe in him and his passion and I hope this beach party showed him that! Plus I know there’s nothing we both would love to see than Durban and the rest of South Africa playing and being more recognised for playing good quality house music. So I’m really excited about our new venture and hope we can keep the momentum going until we achieve our goal.”
Sounds like Durban is in for a treat this festive season.
Funkysoul also blessed the party people with an amazing set that made people dance in the dark sandy shores of Virginia beach.

Yes we are talking retro fashion, dinner, dance and of course music that will bring you an evening packed with the most delightful surprises. Smash hits likely to thrill crowds include: bands like Duran Duran, The Police and Dire Straits, while on the pop synth scene we witnessed The Human League, Culture Club, Thompson Twins, Depeche Mode and many more.
