Crocworld Conservation Centre announces opening of new Fish Eagle Café:
Exquisite ocean views, delicious food and a friendly atmosphere welcome guests to the new Fish Eagle Café, located at Crocworld Conservation Centre in Scottburgh. This delightful eatery opened its doors in time for the festive season, providing hungry locals and holidaymakers with fresh, tasty and affordable food.
“We are so thrilled to welcome visitors to Fish Eagle Café, a really well-located restaurant that offers great food with prompt service, under the management of our experienced Executive Chef and Manager, Morne van Zyl,” said Martin Rodrigues, Centre Manager of Crocworld. “Whether visitors to the centre are looking for a quick bite on the go, or outsiders are in the mood for a great meal with stunning seaviews (actually overlooking the crocodile enclosure!) then Fish Eagle Café is the ideal spot.”
The Fish Eagle Café is under the management of Crookes Brothers South Africa Pty Ltd, a JSE-registered company which has owned and operated Crocworld Conservation Centre since 1985.The day-to-day running of Fish Eagle Café will fall under the watchful eye of Morne. This renowned local chef has 28 years of experience within the food industry following a firm grounding at the Aubrey Wood Hotel & Cookery School.
Morne has catered for everything from intimate parties to high-end delegations. Some of the more notable customers he’s catered for during his career include former presidents, FW de Klerk, Thabo Mbeki and Nelson Mandela. Morne was also responsible for the catering of the 2010 enthronement of Kgosi Molethlegi of the Royal Bafokeng Nation – attended by some 11 000 delegates and dignitaries.

The restaurant and expansive deck area can also be booked out for private events, catering for up to 160 guest – or 120 guests if a dance floor is required. Every function is carefully attended to, with Morne’s team taking care of all logistics and ensuring special attention to every detail.
The Fish Eagle Café will also be hosting various themed evenings, wine tasting events as well as offering some amazing specials in 2019. These include the delicious Sunday lunch buffet at R120 per person (R65 for children U12); a Valentine’s dinner set menu at R450 per couple; and a pensioners’ Monday special at R45 per person.
