With only a few school days remaining, many are turning their attention to holiday activities that will keep the entire family entertained. Fortunately, Crocworld Conservation Centre on the KZN South Coast has a fun-filled holiday programme arranged, running at the Scottburgh-based centre from 1 to 13 April.
“It’s been wonderful being able to welcome visitors through our doors to the newly revamped facilities at Crocworld, and we’re really excited that we’re able to offer residents and visitors a fantastic line-up of holiday activities,” said Crocworld Conservation Centre’s acting Centre Manager, James Wittstock. “Visitor safety is our primary concern at Crocworld, which means that all relevant Covid-19 safety procedures are strictly adhered to. Fortunately, this is an open-air centre with lots of space for the required social distancing within the number limitations.”

Other exciting activities taking place:
· Animal feeding: Visitors are able to purchase bags of animal feed from the curio shop at the entrance (one bag per four customers to prevent overfeeding!) and feed the farmyard animals anytime between 9am and 4pm during the holiday programme.
· Specials: The on-site Fish Eagle Café – with its newly-built wraparound deck and sea views – is giving away a delicious and free Eskimo Jo with every kiddie’s meal purchased. There’s also a buy two-get-one-free special being run on Eskimo Jo’s throughout the holiday programme.
· Easter Market: An outside event’s organiser will be hosting a special Easter Market in the parking lot of Crocworld Conservation Centre on Easter Sunday (4 April). There will be vendors selling crafts and food for a great day out.
Other Crocworld Conservation Centre features to enjoy:
· Visitors are welcome to check out the latest additions to the Crocworld Conservation Centre aviary, which also includes a number of residents that have moved to the new enclosures – Booted Eagles, Eurasian Eagle Owls, Harris Hawk and Jackal Buzzards – in the new Raptor Wing. This extends the centre’s existing aviary, which was recently upgraded, housing numerous local and exotic bird species.
• ‘Laggie’, a beautiful, female, white-throated monitor lizard and a baby stork born at the centre are some of the newest residents to join the Crocworld team.
• The popular Whale Watching Walkway has been revamped, giving visitors the chance to spot some of these migrating mammals as well as the ever-playful dolphins.
All Covid-19 protocols are in place at Crocworld and visitors are urged to wear masks, sanitise and follow family group social distancing regulations. In line with regulations, the centre and café are open from 9am to 4.30pm.
