Countdown to the 2025 Oceans 8 Charity Swim!

6 June 2025 by My Durban

The Oceans 8 Charity Swim returns to Vetch’s Beach, Durban, from 14 to 16 June, and 1-Mile competitors now stand the chance to win a Stanley Quencher and a REVIVE Electrolyte mixed pack! This epic, open-water swim is founded by charities for charities, with the 1-Mile creating a sustainable flow of funding for 10 deserving KZN NPOs.

Nicci Carvalho, event spokesperson, explains: “1-Mile entrants must raise R800 for charities – which is just R100 from 8 people! You’ll be surprised how quickly friends, family, and colleagues rally around you when they hear what you’re doing and why. The Oceans 8 community is packed with swimmers of all levels, from age 12 to 70+, coming together for a shared cause. There’s no pressure, just support and celebration. If you’re able to swim, you’re able to make a difference!”

Online entries close Thursday, 12 June, but swimmers can still sign up on the day at Vetch’s Beach. Don’t miss the chance to enter, make a difference, and stand a chance to win!
