Continuity for U21’s – Featured Durban Blog

5 July 2019 by My Durban

Continuity for U21’s:

The Cell C Sharks Under 21s will be raring to go against Western province when the two teams meet at JONSSON KINGS PARK at 15h00 tomorrow in a round three fixture as the team looks to back up last week’s performance with another successful one.

Following on from the team’s 23-12 win over the Golden Lions at JONSSON KINGS PARK last week – a crucial win that was – they will be looking to start growing further. With a wealth of talent away at the World Rugby Under 20 competition in round one, the team suffered a disappointing 30-29 loss to a Pukke-enforced Leopards Under 21 team in the first week of action, but last week’s victory has placed the team in second spot on the log.

Following a 73-31 victory over Free State, the Blue Bulls Under 21s lead the log with maximum points, followed by the Cell C Sharks Under 21s in second spot with six points. The Leopards, then Golden Lions, Western Province and Free State trail behind them.

Captain Phepsi Buthelezi is out of this match after suffering a heavy knock against the Lions last weekend and his place at eighthman will be taken by Celimphilo Gumede with hooker Fez Mbatha taking over the captaincy.

Sean Barnes for James Scott and the irrepressible Dylan Richardson for Adam Mountfort complete the changes amongst the forwards.

The backline remains unchanged.
