Clermont Regional Business Fair

It is all systems go for the first ever Clermont Regional Business Fair which is expected to expose about 100 zonal small businesses who will be exhibiting from tomorrow and will run until Sunday 23 August 2015 at the Clermont Sports Auditorium.

The eThekwini residents are urged to come out in numbers and attend this much anticipated Regional Business Fair which has proven to be most critical tool in exposing and positioning small businesses.

Deputy Mayor and Chairperson of Economic Development and Planning Committee, Cllr Nomvuzo Shabalala said: “We decided to extend the Business Fair to regions where most small businesses are situated because they have proven to be the greatest solution to socio-economic challenges and enhancing township economic growth.”

During the exhibition which will run simultaneously with the two-days Business Indaba aimed at providing relevant business information and sharpening entrepreneur’s skills. Businesspeople will also have an opportunity to showcase their products and services to quality buyers and potential investors.

Topics to be covered by experienced and established business experts during the Fair will focus on fast-tracking radical economic transformation by giving shape and content to the revival of clothing and textile industry, manufacturing, tourism and township regeneration.

“It is important for all of us to support local manufactured goods because by doing so that means we are all contributing to the City’s economy rather than enriching other countries,” said Shabalala.

Clermont Regional Business Fair is a joint initiative by eThekwini Municipality’s Business Support, Tourism and Markets Unit and KwaZulu-Natal Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs to rejuvenate the township economy through capacitating and better positioning small businesses to be competitive and sustainable in order to create jobs and alleviate poverty.

Entrance to both Exhibition and Business Indaba is free.

The Clermont fair is on from 21 to 23 August 2015 from 08h00 to 17h00 daily at the Clermont Sports Auditorium.
