The Easter holidays are almost here and with its free Easter Festival and fantastic holiday events lined up, the KZN South Coast is the be! Running from 24 March to 10 April, the popular Easter Festival will return, bringing lots of outdoor family fun and activities to beaches and hinterland venues around the Paradise of the Zulu Kingdom.

“The arrival of autumn brings with it some of the best weather on the KZN South Coast, with sunny skies, calmer seas, and more moderate temperatures. This is the perfect time for outdoor adventures, with our Blue Flag beaches and nature reserves ready to welcome visitors,” explained Phelisa Mangcu, CEO of South Coast Tourism & Investment Enterprise (SCTIE). “Families will enjoy participating in the free Easter Festival activities, as well as the many other events taking place over this holiday period.”

Easter Festival

Running from 24 March to 10 April, 10am to 2pm every day, there will be sports activities, fun competitions, and prizes as the Easter Festival gets underway. This will be hosted at several different beach and hinterland venues across the KZN South Coast, weather permitting. Visitors are encouraged to head to Margate Main Beach where they can take pictures in the SCTIE selfie frames which can be shared on social media with the hashtags #kznsouthcoast #seakznsouthcoast.

Umdoni Park Golf Club St Patrick’s Day

Getting the celebrations started early is Umdoni Park Golf Club which is going green on Friday, 17 March from 7pm to 10pm with its St Patrick’s Day party. There will be lunch and dinner specials, as well as drinks specials!

Carousel Holiday Resort Water Park

The popular Hibberdene-based holiday resort has just opened a Water Park, with great slides and water fun for the whole family!
Cost: Adults R120; children 1.2m and below, R80

Dezzi Raceway’s Car and Bike Racing

Get some high-octane action at Port Shepstone’s Dezzi Raceway on 18 March. The qualifiers will take place from 7.15am with racing from 10am.
Cost: Adults R100, children and pensioners R50

ANEW Resort Ingeli Forest Lodge Meal Specials

This stunning Harding-based resort is holding a number of meal specials that are not to be missed! There’s the Beer & Burger Deal running until 1 June which includes a chicken burger and 300ml beer. They’re also running the Fish and Chips Deal running until April which includes a grilled or battered hake and a glass of wine.
Cost: R165 per meal.

ANEW Resort Ingeli Forest Lodge Picnic in the Garden

Celebrate the upcoming holidays with a picnic in the beautiful gardens of this Harding-based resort. Visit on Human Rights Day (21 March) or Freedom Day (27 April) from 12pm to 3pm for a braai and some great live music.

Fairhills Caravan Park & Camping Ground

This fantastic Ramsgate-based caravan park and campsite have several accommodation specials running. For the Freedom Day (27 April) long weekend, pay only R1 100 for three nights for a family of six. For the Easter long weekend, it’s only R1 500 for four nights for a family of six. For the March school holidays, spend only R2 500 for seven nights for a family of six.

Lake Eland Game Reserve Easter Programme

Head to this stunning reserve in Oribi for two days of Easter holiday fun! On Saturday 8 April, from 10am to 6pm and Sunday, 9 April from 10am to 4pm there will be face painting, tea in the garden, dancing, meeting the Easter bunny, an Easter egg hunt, pony rides, and more!

Lake Eland Game Reserve March Specials

There is lots on the go at this incredible Oribi-based game reserve, including mid-week 30% off accommodation specials until 16 March, Human Rights Weekend Celebration from 17 to 21 March, and the Lake Eland Adventure Club Kids Walk with Zippie’s Adventure on 25 March.

Pistols Saloon Live Music

Throughout March and April, head to the ‘old west’, Pistols Saloon in Ramsgate, where there will be a host of live music and fun karaoke!

Alice in Dinoland

Catch this fun take on an old classic with the showing of Alice in Dinoland at Dino Park in Melville. There will be two showings on Sunday, 9 April from 10am to 12 and 12pm to 2pm. This also includes a fun Easter Egg hunt for children under 12.
