Yesterday, 13 November 2014 at about 20:00 Durban Flying Squad Narcotics Team tackled Chatsworth area in their fight against drug trade in the area. A 29-year-old male was arrested after he was found dealing in drugs between Palm Road and Silverglen Drive in Chatsworth. Police seized 236 tablets of crystal meth and 6 bags of crystal meth powder with the street value of R15 500.00. The suspect was then arrested and charged for dealing in drugs. He was taken to Chatsworth police station for detention. He is appearing Chatsworth Magistrates’ Court today, 14 November 2014. The State intends to oppose bail since the suspect was previously convicted on the same charges.
KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Mmamonnye Ngobeni applauded the Narcotics Team on their arrest and seizure of drugs. She further encouraged them to continue with their operations to eradicate drug dealing in Durban suburbs and surroundings throughout the festive season.
