Celebrating SA’s Comedy Kings & Queens

21 February 2019 by My Durban

Celebrating SA’s Comedy Kings & Queens:

The King of comedy Darren Maule

Durban audiences were treated to performances from some of South Africa’s most celebrated comedy giants this past weekend, at the Kings & Queens of Comedy Festival. Crowds were left cheering for more after the spectacular show, which was proudly co-sponsored by SA’s favourite takkie brand, Tomy Takkies, as part of the brand’s ongoing commitment to support the local comedy scene.

The stellar line up included Angel Campey, Carvin Goldstone, Muthu Murugan, Ndumiso Lindi, Riaad Moosa, Schalk Bezuidenhout, Tumi Morake and the unmatchable team of Conrad Koch and Chester Missing. Phenomenal acts from new additions to the Kings & Queens of Comedy family included Thenjiwe Moseley, Mo Vawda and Lindy Johnson. Of course, no Kings & Queens of Comedy event would be complete without the Grand Royal Hostmaster, Darren Maule.

“Tomy Takkies is very excited to be collaborating with the ECR Kings and Queens of Comedy as this partnership will further imprint upon the Tomy’s #Walkitoff campaign focus. Our campaign and alignment with comedy places emphasis on South Africans finding humour, lightheartedness and fun in everyday nuisances,” commented head of marketing for Bata SA, Swastika Juggernath.
