EThekwini Municipality informs all commuters utilising the Municipality’s bus service -operated by private operator, Tansnat – that the bus service has not been restored in all affected areas due to a strike by bus drivers.
However, Tansnat is meeting with the bus drivers this morning, 06 July 2015 to resolve the impasse and ensure that all buses are back on the road as soon as possible.
The strike action started on Thursday afternoon, 02 July 2015, when several bus drivers decided not to get behind the wheel and by Friday morning, 03 July 2015, more bus drivers downed tools and the entire service was affected.
The bus operator has informed the Municipality that they hope that talks with the bus drivers will yield positive results so that the bus service will be back to normal soon.
The Municipality wishes to apologise to all commuters for the inconvenience caused.
Commuters are urged to make alternative travel arrangements during this interruption.
