4 August 2026 by My Durban

Entries for the 2026 Boxer Super Run Durban will open on Thursday, 06 August 2026, with event organisers announcing exciting news: the event’s capacity has been increased from 5000 to 7000 participants, allowing even more runners to be part of the action in 2026.

Launched in 2023, the Boxer Super Run has quickly become one of South Africa’s most anticipated 5km events. Centred around the world’s most popular running distance, the event offers something for everyone, welcoming elite athletes, social runners, walkers and first-time participants to enjoy a high-energy, inclusive race-day experience.

Commenting on the increased capacity for the 2026 Boxer Super Run Durban, Michael Meyer, Managing Director of Stillwater Sports, said:

“The response to the Boxer Super Run Durban has been phenomenal, and increasing our capacity from 5000 to 7000 participants is a direct reflection of the event’s growing popularity. We’re excited to welcome even more runners, walkers, families and fitness enthusiasts to experience the incredible atmosphere that makes this event so special. We encourage everyone to secure their entry early, as we expect demand to be high.”

Highlighting Boxer’s commitment to inspiring healthier, more active communities, Lee-Ann Pillay, Head of Marketing at Boxer Superstores, said:

“At Boxer, we’re passionate about bringing communities together, and the Boxer Super Run Durban is a wonderful celebration of health, fitness and family. Seeing the event grow to accommodate 7000 participants is incredibly exciting, and we’re proud to continue creating an experience that is accessible, inclusive and fun for everyone. We’re especially proud that, since the event was established, we’ve kept the entry fee unchanged, ensuring that taking part remains affordable and accessible to as many people as possible. We can’t wait to welcome runners and supporters to another unforgettable event.”
