This Friday, July 18 marks late former President Nelson Mandela’s birthday and the 67 minutes reflects 67 years of selfless service to South Africa when he fought for the country’s liberation.
In honour of the struggle icon, eThekwini Municipality believes that helping those in need will go a long way towards breaking the cycle of poverty.
As we continue with our 20 years of freedom celebration and accelerating Madiba’s legacy, we are proud to join hands with the Pavilion Shopping Centre Management to assist 20 deserving Non-Profit Organisations (NPOs).
Today the Mayor of eThekwini Cllr James Nxumalo in partnership with the Pavilion Shopping Centre Management will interact with the 20 NPOs.
During the interface the mall’s tenants will pledge to assist in providing social assistance and support to the 20 NPOs and education institutions.
Support to be provided includes:
- Establishing or maintaining a food garden;
- Proving feeding scheme / meal for the day;
- Building maintenance and renovations such as landscaping, painting, fixing roof, windows and floors;
