An Upper Room Bed and Breakfast is situated on the Durban’s ridge, with a spectacular view over the harbour, set away from the main roads in tranquil surroundings and frequented by many species of birds. We are situated at the top of Pigeon Valley which teems with numerous species of wild life. An Upper Room offers peace and tranquility for the business executive or holidaymaker. Children of all ages are welcome, and those who are five-years old and under stay for free.
Accommodation is offered in four twin en-suite rooms, all with DStv. Our well-appointed rooms are fully air-conditioned and feature a safe and a heater, with a hairdryer available on request. We serve a full or continental breakfast to our guests depending on their choice and any special dietary requirements are met by prior arrangement. We also offer wireless Internet access and a laundry service for guests’ convenience.
A sparkling swimming pool caters for relaxation and cooling off on hot summer days, while safe off-street parking is available through automated gates. Dinners or braai packs are available by arrangement and the use of a barbecue is permitted. In addition, 24-hour street patrol in the area ensures that the surroundings are safe.
An Upper Room is conveniently located close to the University of Natal, both Entabeni and St. Augustine Hospitals, and Glenwood High School and Durban Girls High are within close proximity. The Absa Stadium, as well as the Moses Mabhida Stadium are about 10 km from our establishment. There are a number of restaurants and take-away cafés in the area which offer a variety of different cuisines, many of which offer a delivery service to your door.

I only stayed for two evenings, but I had a lovely time. The room was very tidy and comfortable, and my room had a balcony which overlooked the city. Edith was a lovely hostess, and made every effort to make sure that my stay was enjoyable. Breakfast was also a very pleasant experience.
