Vibrant Bollywood programme lights up South Coast Bike Fest™ 2018:
The celebration of KwaZulu-Natal’s cultural diversity and encouragement of social cohesion are important elements of the annual South Coast Bike Fest, sponsored by UGU South Coast Tourism and Tourism KZN, running from 27 to 30 April at the seaside town of Margate. The introduction of the dynamic Bollywood programme on Monday, 30 April works into this cultural celebration, bringing the entertaining festival to a close on a particularly high note.
Starting at 11am, children are invited to participate in the fun and vivid Colour Fes at the Budweiser Main Beach Stage. Inspired by the traditional Hindu festival of Holi, children will get the chance to throw colourful powdered paint – resulting in a fun, messy array of colour. This vibrant beachside activity will take place on the sand – away from all non-participating festival-goers – and participants are encouraged to wear white clothing for maximum effect.
The festival will then take a musical turn as renowned South African musician, Milano Singh, takes to the stage at 1pm for a dynamic one-hour, high-energy set. Famed KwaZulu-Natal radio DJ, Deon Govender, will then prove why he has such a big influence on the local club scene as keeps the momentum upbeat from 3pm to 4pm. His enthusiasm and larger-than-life personality make this a not-to-be-missed gig.
This enticing line-up includes entertainment in the form of traditional Indian dancers who at be performing throughout the day. Festival-goers will also get a taste of local Indian culture through one of the many food outlets serving authentic cuisine and, for a touch of decorative body art, there will be henna tattooists at the show ready to make their mark.
In addition to this captivating programme, visitors to the South Coast Bike Fest will also get the chance to visit eight festival-themed bars, a corporate dealership deck as well as 22 onsite clubs, pubs and restaurants catering to all interests and tastes. There is also full line-up of more than 30 South African artists – in addition to the above-mentioned – and a jam-packed entertainment programme, including:
• Stunt shows and SOUTH COAST ENDUROX in the Full Throttle Staging Arena.
• Shredbetty’s Ladies Learn to Ride
• Various parades and outrides.
All bikers and pillions are urged to pre-register online for #freefunseeker tickets which gives free access to the entire event precinct including the main stage featuring all the headline artist performances. All non-biking pedestrians will be charged a nominal fee of R60 per day which provides access to the event precinct. For another R150, #fuelyourfun ticket holders can access the Budweiser Main Beach Stage Golden Circle. Children U12 (accompanied by an adult) enter free.
