SAMSA investigates port collision

Durban, South Africa, April 16, 2018: The South African Maritime Safety Authority (SAMSA), has launched an investigation into a collision between a car carrier vessel and an inactive tugboat while the ship was berthing alongside Durban Point Precinct. The vessel CSCC ASIA, operated by Hoegh Autoliners, collided with the inactive tug Inyalazi at about 9am on Friday, 13 April 2018 at R shed at the Port of Durban. SAMSA canoeists scoop silver at Dusi marathon

The South African Maritime Safety Authority (SAMSA) Canoeists have received silver medals for finishing 15th at the Dusi Marathon in Durban. Mhlonishwa Hlongwane and Nqobile Makhanya, part of the SAMSA Change Life Academy entrants, made it in 2:57 minutes on Saturday. They were in the first batch where Sbonelo "Eric" Zondi, also a Change a Life entrant shared the winning prize with Andy Birkett.
