Disappointing End: A season that promised so much sadly ended in disappointment when Western Province defeated the Cell C Sharks 33-21 in the 2017 Currie Cup Final at Growthpoint KINGS PARK on Saturday. The first half offered the opportunity to see out the season in style, one that should have ended in the glory promised in a fruitful campaign that saw us finish the pool stages top of the log. Disappointing Loss: Vodacom Super Rugby returned to Growthpoint KINGS PARK after a month’s absence, but it wasn’t a happy reunion as the Bulls ran out 30-17 winners over the Cell C Sharks on Friday. On a cool evening, played in near perfect conditions, the Bulls, with nothing to lose, threw everything into attack and in particular, never allowed the Cell C Sharks to stamp their mark on the game. A Disappointing Draw: The disruption of last week’s bye hampered the Cell C Sharks momentum as they had to settle for a 9-all draw with the visiting Melbourne Rebels in their Vodacom Super Rugby clash at Growthpoint KINGS PARK on Saturday evening. This match was a complete arm-wrestle between the sides with neither side able to enjoy the fruits of their various advantages in a game filled with drama.
