Chief Executive Officer of KwaZulu-Natal Cricket Heinrich Strydom is excited to be working with Docrat as they set out developing a strategy for KZN Cricket.

“Jameela has already shown what she can do in a short space of time, and I am confident that she will be very successful in taking our finance structures to the next level of professionalism,” he said.

Docrat said she was looking forward to the challenge, and teaming up with like-minded individuals who are working hard to take KZN Cricket forward.

“The culture at the union was an important influence for me and it is great to see everyone working as one towards a common goal.

New appointments for KZN Inland administrative & coaching team:

Pietermaritzburg – KwaZulu-Natal Inland Cricket have announced four new appointments across their administrative and coaching structures going into the new season.

With the recent changes at KZN Cricket, KZN Inland have now appointed Yashveer Singh as their Coaching Manager, while Warren Naidoo will take over as the Youth Coordinator, Muhammed Jooma will be the Clubs & Facilities Coordinator and Lungelo Ndlovu will move into the role as Sweetwaters Hub head coach.

“My administrative career began at the University of KwaZulu-Natal where I managed their side that took part in the USSA week and I was also running a development programme in Northdale,” Yashveer Singh mentioned.

“Once I was aware that Desigan (Reddy) was moving back to Durban I applied for the vacant position and I am incredibly happy that I was selected.”

Singh’s coaching staff at KZN Inland has been finalised and he will be working closely with head coach Shane Burger and a number of up-and-coming coaches who will be in charge of the various schools teams.

“Shane’s (Burger) pedigree speaks for itself, he has been involved in the National Academy set-up as well as with the South African ‘A’ team so he is growing in experience constantly.

“We have a number of promising young coaches on board at Inland and they are all really excited to be involved which gives me confidence in what we plan on doing going forward,” Singh added.

Amateur Manager at KZN Inland, Jason Sathiaseelan is encouraged by these changes and is looking forward to the impact these new appointments can make to the union.

“Yashveer (Singh) is young and dynamic , he has a very good work ethic so it was a simple decision to promote him to Coaching Manager.

“We identified him as the ideal candidate and with his personality and drive I feel he will grow into the role well,” Sathiaseelan said.

The manager at Inland cricket was also quick to support the other appointments.

“When we looked at who could take over as the Youth Coordinator, Warren (Naidoo) was the ideal candidate.

“It was important that we kept it local and used people that have experience in this environment and Warren has been involved in schools cricket and understands how the system works.

“Muhammed has umpired many games in our local leagues and he too understands the club structures and set up, which made it easy for us to select him.

“The same came when looking at a Sweetwaters Hub head coach, as Lungelo has experience with coaching at schools and I know that he will do a great job with the hub,” he commented.
